Does lipiX need the internet?

Yes. When you let go of the keys, the recording goes to the lipiX server and is transcribed by Whisper large-v3, the most accurate Whisper model. That is what makes Hindi and 99 other languages work without a download or a fast CPU. A normal home or mobile connection is enough.

Which operating systems are supported?

Ubuntu GNOME on Wayland (a signed .deb with apt updates), Windows 10/11 (an installer with in-app updates), and macOS.

Will it work in my editor, terminal, browser, or chat app?

lipiX types at your cursor, so it works anywhere you can type: VS Code, Neovim, a terminal, Firefox, Slack, WhatsApp, Notion, Claude, and so on. The text is also copied to your clipboard every time.

Which languages does it understand?

100 of them: English, Hindi (types हिन्दी), Hinglish (types Hindi in Roman letters), Tamil, Bengali, Marathi, Urdu, Spanish, Chinese, and every other language Whisper large-v3 knows. It handles a wide range of accents, including Indian English. Pick your language in Settings.

Do I need a special microphone?

No. A laptop mic or any headset works. If a headset disconnects mid sentence, lipiX switches to the next available microphone on its own.

What does it cost?

The Free plan is free for good, no card needed. Pro is ₹99 per month, paid inside the app by UPI, GPay, PhonePe, or card. There is a 7-day no-questions refund on your first payment.

Can I cancel?

Any time, from inside the app. You keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for, and nothing renews after that.

What data do you collect?

We never save your audio or your transcripts: a recording is transcribed and discarded. We store your email for sign-in and your subscription state. Full details are in the privacy policy.
